Beyond the Beaches of Cabo

Apr 8, 2016 By elinwaldal 14 Comments

While looking through photos this morning, I came across pictures from a trip I took to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Of course, I loved sailing over the turquoise water and taking in the white sandy beaches, but one of my favorite memories includes an excursion we took to a fabulous venue tucked in the foothills of the Sierra de Laguna Mountains, Flora Farm.

Home to the scrumptious restaurant, Flora’s Field Kitchen, Flora Farm is without a doubt a jewel of a place and well worth the few miles of dirt road that one travels to get there. But, make sure that you save your appetite because the food there will not disappoint.

Hungry for brunch? Consider a stack of savory lemon pancakes that melt in your mouth, fresh farm eggs scrambled to perfection with a side of potatoes, or a salad filled with the days harvest of veggies grown on the farm.

And there’s more, The Flora’s Farm Bar has a plethora of libations to choose from, I for one enjoyed this made from scratch Bloody Mary, look closely, a jubilee of vegetables make up its edible garnish.

IMG_0807Flora Farm is no stranger to the concept that people—not just place—make for an environment that creates evangelical visitors, the entire staff there made us feel welcome and ensured that our experience was top notch.

Everywhere I looked there was something to feast my eyes on!

Flora Farm is a place that has mastered the art of detail. The staff there recognizes that small flourishes leave an indelible mark in the memories of their guests: cloth napkins, chalkboard messages and loads of flowers. Hand-painted signage, jelly jar drinking glasses, and rustic outdoor spaces to dine in.

Just beyond the gates of the restaurant, one can imagine a wedding ceremony held under the strings of lights stretched above a field surrounded by gardens.

What about you, if you were to organize anything from a meal with friends to a special celebration at Flora Farm, what would you plan?

I went to Cabo last year and so wanted to go to Flora Farm but we were only there for the weekend and didn’t get a chance. I will definitely go next time. Looks scrumptious!
